Water restrictions in effect for Terrace

The City of Terrace says a failed water pump means enhanced water restrictions will be going into effect.

In a release, Brian Doddridge with the city says one of three pumps at the Frank Street Well Complex has failed.

The enhanced restrictions include:

No sprinkling lawns, trees, shrubs, flowers or gardens until further notice; but using a handheld hose with a spray trigger nozzle is allowed.

The restrictions apply to Terrace and areas that are connected to the city’s water system, including some residences in North Terrace and Braun’s Island.

The release adds the restrictions are needed to ensure water levels are maintained for emergency services, and for domestic and commercial users.

Updates will be posted on the City of Terrace website and Facebook.
