It’s Quesnel’s turn to get some that Small Communities Fund infrastructure money.
Quesnel will get just over $2.4 million each from the province and the feds for Phase 2 of West Quesnel Land Stability project.
The project will cost $7.2 million, with Quesnel providing the difference.
The project will stabilize about 240 hectares of the uplands area in West Quesnel.
Moving ground is damaging homes, buildings, and buried infrastructure; resulting in expensive repairs and safety concerns.
When completed, the community will be less vulnerable to the risks and impacts of the unstable land in the area.
