The Cariboo Fire Centre says a wildfire burning west of Williams Lake isn’t posing an immediate threat to people or property.
The fire was reported Monday afternoon, approximately 7 kilometres north of Puntzi Lake and had grown to 182 hectares in size by Tuesday.
Nearly 50 firefighters were on the ground attacking the flames Tuesday after crews and heavy equipment set up control lines around the fire during the night.
The Cariboo Fire Centre says there’s been no significant growth of the fire since Monday. The cause of the wildfire remains under investigation.
The BC Wildfire Service is urging people to stay well away from the wildfire area.
