Crews from the Wildfire Management Branch are currently responding to a wildfire 10km northeast of Pelican Lake, and 80km northwest of Quesnel.
The wildfire was caused by lightning, and is estimated to be 250 hectares in size.
There are currently 20 firefighters and two helicopters on site, with numerous additional crews and equipment heading to the site.
While no structures are under threat, the public is being warned that there will be increased smoke in the area over the next few days as crews conduct burn-offs to establish control lines around the fire.
The fire is burning in the same location as the historical wildfire near Pelican Lake in 2010.
