The Northwest Fire Centre responded to six new wildfire starts Monday.
While firefighters have the majority of the fires put out or in the patrol stage, there are still a two burning near Burns Lake area.
The Dayeezcha Mountain fire, approximately 44 kilometres southeast of the community, is estimated at 30 hectares. Another blaze burning 57 kilometres southeast of Burns Lake covers about four hectares.
The BC Wildfire Service says neither fire is threatening homes or buildings, but strong wind may fan the flames and make smoke visible from Burns Lake, Southside, and sections of Highway 16.
The wildfires are human-caused, but the Northwest Fire Centre says they remain under investigation.
