Cooler weather so far this week is expected to help keep a wildfire near Prince George from spreading.
But firefighters are continuing to battle the Little Bobtail Lake fire, which grew to 250 square kilometres over the weekend, and officials say lightning is an ongoing threat.
The RCMP is also asking for the public’s help in their investigation of this fire.
The origin of the fire has been discovered and officials suspect it was human-caused.
While that fire is believed to be caused by humans, lightning fuelled a cluster of seven fires in the central Cariboo region over the long weekend, including a 30,000 square-metre blaze near Anahim Lake.
All the new fires are reported to be either extinguished or under control.
