RCMP say a Williams Lake woman was killed in a tragic accident on Vancouver Island.
Mounties say the 57 year-old was hiking with her daughter along a popular trail north of Campbell River Tuesday when she was hit by a falling tree.
Efforts to save her by the daughter, who is a nurse, and another hiker, a former millitary medic, were not successful.
The BC Coroners Service is investigating.
