Environment Canada has issued a wind advisory for Haida Gwaii and the Central Coast.
Strong winds that may cause damage are expected or occurring.
Southeast winds of 80 to 110 km/h will develop over exposed coastal sections near midnight tonight as an intense frontal system approaches the BC coast.
Winds will ease over Haida Gwaii Saturday near noon and over North Vancouver Island and Central Coast – coastal sections Saturday afternoon when the front moves east.
Damage to buildings, such as to roof shingles and windows, may occur. Loose objects may be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage.
Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions due to high winds.
