Environment Canada says an intense frontal system offshore will cross Haida Gwaii this afternoon and move onto the B.C. Coast tonight.
Haida Gwaii and exposed areas of the North Coast will see southeast winds reaching speeds of 90 gusting to 110 km/h later this morning then quickly drop below the warning criteria late in the day.
As the front slides southward, exposed areas of the Central Coast will see the peak winds in the afternoon and early evening.
Loose objects may be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage. High winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break.
