There’s a wind warning in effect for the North and Central coasts.
An Arctic ridge of high pressure over the Southern Yukon combined with an area of low-pressure West of Vancouver Island will produce strong winds through the Mainland Valleys and inlets of the North and Central Coasts. Strong northeasterly outflow winds of 90 km/h will persist today and tonight.
Damage to buildings, such as to roof shingles and windows, may occur. High winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break.
Wind warnings are issued when there is a significant risk of damaging winds.
