A winter storm warning has been issued by Environment Canada for North Coast inland areas.
The weather agency says the Terrace and Kitimat areas can expect 10 to 15 centimetres of snow tonight.
Temperatures should rise tomorrow and result in periods of snow mixed with freezing drizzle, then turning to rain later on Saturday.
Stewart is expected to get hit with 30 to 40 centimetres of snow overnight.
Area residents are warned that rapidly accumulating snow will make travel difficult.
Road closures are possible, and take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas.
