Environment Canada has issued a winter storm warning for interior sections of the North Coast.
Forecasters say a frontal system moving through the region will bring freezing rain and 15 to 25 cm of snow before it tapers off Tuesday evening.
Poor travel conditions are expected on the roads and highways around Terrace, Kitimat, and the Nass Valley.
DriveBC reports compact snow with slippery sections along Highways 16 and 37 along with limited visibility due to blowing snow.
Black ice has also been reported on Highway 16 from Agate Creek Bridge to Terrace.
