The Witset First Nation is celebrating the grand opening of its newly renovated 40 site RV park and campground.
The $1.3 million revitalization project took two years to complete and features upgraded electrical servicing, a new Indigenous-design
playground, and a new staircase that connects the grounds to the canyon below.
The work also saw the total renovation of washrooms and laundry facilities, the park office as well as the addition of an on-site caretaker unit, new firepits and accessible picnic tables, and a fully accessible washroom with roll-in showers.
Chief Victor Jim says making the campground accessible was important to make everyone feel welcome.
