A Lower Mainland area foster-mother is appealing for the return of her son’s stolen regalia.
Linda Cyrette was Jonathan’s foster mother and says he helped design the unique Canucks inspired regalia himself.
On his way to a dance last week, the regalia was stolen from a car that was parked near the Vancouver Aboriginal Friendship Centre.
Cyrette says the loss of his regalia has devastated Jonathan, preventing him not only from dancing, but also being with his family.
One bright spot in this ordeal is the number of people who have stepped up offering to help.
On a Facebook page set up by Cyrette for Jonathan, people as far away as Ontario have been offering help.
She says Jonathan is a little overwhelmed by the support he’s getting, but she’s explained to him that there are many people who care that he’s able to participate in his culture.
A cash reward with no questions asked is being offered for the safe return of Jonathan’s regalia.
