A small town in the Yukon has opened its arms to those fleeing wildfires in Lower Post BC.
The town of Watson Lake is 22 kms up the Alaska Highway from Lower Post and they have made their recreation centre available to evacuees.
Motorists stranded due to the closure of the Alaska Highway south of the Yukon Border have also been invited to find shelter in the town.
Residents of Lower Post were evacuated over night after the 4 thousand hectare Lutz Creek wildfire flared up.
