Increased wildfire activity has prompted new evacuation notices from the Regional District of Bulkley Nechako.
On Sunday, the district issued an evacuation order for the nearly 4,500 hectare Tekaiziyis Ridge wildfire along with the Wet’suwet’en and Skin Tyee First Nations.
That adds to an alert issued for the same fire, as well as an alert issued for the Bivouac Creek wildfire northeast of Burns Lake.
Another order was issued on Saturday due to the over 10,000 hectare Wells Creek wildfire in the Ootsa Lake area.
An alert issued last weekend for the Witset Village remains in place, though the nation said in a daily memorandum that crews are expecting damp fall weather, reducing smoke and fire activity slowly.
