Strong winds forced the John Brown Creek wildfire near Witset to break containment and ignite a spot fire yesterday.
But, the fire is only covering about 10 hectares, roughly 2 kilometres from the Village, with the main fire now covering over 400 hectares.
Attack teams are on-site today, but the fire is still listed as being held, and an evacuation alert remains in effect for the area.
An evacuation alert also remains just south of Houston, and an order is in place south of there, where the Nadina River meets Francois Lake.
Orders are also in effect around Lucas Lake, on the east end of the Nechako Reservoir, and around Tatuk Lake further east from there.
More orders are covering the Great Beaver Lake area north of Vanderhoof, and around the Omineca Provincial Park, where an alert area has also been expanded.
