With more unseasonably warm temperatures expected in the north, the province has extended the state of emergency.
4,200 people under evacuation orders and 65,000 under alerts, the state of emergency will remain in effect until September 14.
That’s to continue to ensure public safety and support through the province’s worst-ever wildfire season.
Dry conditions, smoke, and strong winds are expected to persist in the north along with unseasonable temperatures.
Currently, there are over 3,500 personnel involved in wildfire response efforts.
