Province opens up Disaster Financial Assistance applications for communities impacted by wildfires

Local governments and First Nations impacted by wildfires this season can now apply for provincial financial assistance.

Through Disaster Financial Assistance, community authorities can cover losses that may not be covered by insurance.

Those losses could be roads, bridges, and publicly owned infrastructure.

In the Northwest, municipalities and Indigenous communities within the Kitimat-Stikine, Bulkley Nechako, and Cariboo regional districts are eligible.

Those who have faced wildfire impacts since April 29 are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.
