RCMP have uncovered the remains of a floatplane which crashed along the Central Coast on Wednesday, but are still searching for its occupants.
Operated by Air Cab, the plane and its 3 occupants had been on the way to Port Hardy from a remote logging camp, when it went down somewhere in Strachan Bay.
Crews from the Coast Guard and RCMP West Coast Marine Service were dispatched to the area after the crash, but failed to locate the missing occupants.
This morning, one of those crews was able to locate the wreckage of the plane, but found no signs of the pilot or two passengers.
An RCMP Dive Team has also been dispatched to help as the search efforts continue.
