Get ready to see roaming bears earlier in the north this year.
According to conservation officers, the quickly melting snow is springing the bears from their hibernation early this year.
Officials say they have already received multiple reports of bears in the Cariboo.
Residents are warned to be aware of possible bear encounters and to cover or remove items that may attract bears, such as garbage bins and bird feeders.
The remaining snow could make bears more desparate to seek out irregular food sources.
