The province has announced it’s funding a number of upgrades for the University Hospital of Northern BC.
The hospital will get $8-million to expand inpatient bed capacity and another $4.5-million to upgrade its electrical systems.
Northern Health also got the go-ahead from Victoria to look for ways to improve its perioperative, mental health and cardiac care.
The hospital will renovate several areas to make space for the 27 new beds.
Construction should be finished by next fall.
