There was some anxious moments for family members of a Burns Lake hunter.
Police say a 72-year-old man was hunting northeast of Fort Babine when they got a call from his concerned family Tuesday after they didn’t hear from the hunter.
He would usually called home twice a day.
Smithers RCMP couldn’t contact the man on his satellite phone and the search and rescue unit was alerted and activated.
They deployed a helicopter and located the man, safe, near his truck.
Mounties say the satellite phone wasn’t functioning so he couldn’t call home.
SAR members say he was able to drive his truck back to Burns Lake.
