The province says construction on two Highway 16 passing lanes is expected to begin in June.
Officials say they currently have a tenders out on the two projects.
One of the passing lanes will be a two km extension to the existing passing lane on Highway 16 at Rainbow Summit.
The second one will be installed at Tyhee Lake, just east of Telkwa between Houston and Smithers.
The province says the projects will improve traffic flow and give motorists a safe way to pass.
It’s expected the passing lanes will be completed by the fall.
More passing lanes will be installed on Highway 16 and 37 throughout 2018.
