After surpassing their budget for two consecutive years, the Barlow Creek Fire Protection Service will be the subject of an external audit.
According to the Cariboo Regional District, the decision to conduct the audit comes following an initial review that left many questions unanswered.
Upon initial investigation, it appears that the extra money went towards training, equipment, and maintenance, but the District is seeking a more indepth look.
The audit comes ahead of the CRD Board of Directors approval of the next 5 year financial plan for all services.
