Dawson Creek is breaking new ground with an agreement with Hockey Canada.
The Peace Region city has entered in to a first of its kind long-term hosting agreement which will see the city host numerous events over the next 5 years.
According to Mayor Dale Bumstead, the city was chosen due to its prove support for the sport, and existing infrastructure due to a long history of hosting events.
The city has hosted the under 17 hockey tournament twice in the last 3 years, on top of acting as a training facility for olypmic teams in the past.
The agreement looks to offer a huge boost to the northeastern tourism economy.
