Election season isn’t over quite yet for residents of Electoral Area F in the Cariboo Regional District.
Confirmation came down from the Distict today that they will be holding a by-election for a new director this spring.
Conrad Turcotte was selected as a Director-elect during October’s elections, but was unable to take his oath of office prior to the December 7th deadline.
Provincial rules state that a Director-Elect has 45 days following the official announcement of election results to take their oath.
As a result, Turcotte will forfeit his spot and Director Joan Sorley will continue to hold the position until another election can be held.
A date of March 30th, 2019 has been tentatively set for the by-election with a set date to be released following the District’s January 18th meeting.
