The continued growth of the Narcosli Creek fire southwest of Quesnel has prompted an evacuation order and the expansion of an existing evacuation alert.
33 properties fall under the order, which covers an area southwest of Quesnel on the west side of the Fraser River.
The alert reaches out further to stretch all the way to the Fraser River, but does not effect any properties on the east side of the river.
Residents inside of the evacuation order are considered in immediate danger and are asked to head to the emergency reception centre in Prince George at the CN Centre.
Evacuees are being asked to head north on Ernst Road, then take Marsh Road through Quesnel and take Highway 97 north to Prince George.
A second route to Highway 97 is available by taking Mt. Creek Road/Townsend Lake Road, turning North onto Lavington Road, to Tibbles Road, to Nazko Road, through Quesnel.
Those under an evacuation alert are asked to prepare family and essentials in case and order is issued for that area.
