Environment Canada has issued weather warnings related to extreme cold and frigid windchill conditions.
An extreme windchill warning has been issued for the Chilcoting as a cold air mass makes its way to the area.
Forecasters expect temperatures near minus 30 combined with wind of up to 15 km/h will produce wind chill values near minus 40 Monday night and into Tuesday morning.
An arctic outflow warning has also been issued for inland areas of the North Coast, including Terrace, Kitimat, and Stewart.
Cold temperatures in the minus 10 degree Celsius combined with winds about 20 km/h will give wind chill values near minus 20 Monday night and Tuesday morning.
The weather office says conditions will moderate Tuesday afternoon as temperatures rise.
