Flood watch, high streamflow advisories ended across Northwest

River levels across the Northwest are starting to drop after heavy rain last week.

The BC River Forecast Centre has ended a flood watch for the Skeena River and tributaries, including the Bulkley River.

Officials have also called off a high streamflow advisory for the Nass and Iskut Rivers as well as tributaries around Kispiox, Meziadin Junction, and Bob Quinn Lake.

Forecasters say most rivers have peaked and have started to recede.

There were reports of flooding along sections of Old Remo outside Terrace over the weekend.

Meanwhile a flood watch for the South Peace Region and surrounding areas like the Pine Pass, Chetwynd, and Mackenzie remains in place.

A washout shut down Highway 97 for a number of hours between Mackenzie and Chetwynd Saturday.
