The BC River Forecast Centre says heavy rain over the past few days has seen river levels rise.
Officials have issued a flood watch for the Bulkey River and tributaries around the Smithers region.
Water levels could increase by 0.2 to a half metre which could mean localized flooding around the Bulkily.
The Village of Telkwa has warned residents to stay away from the river bank due to the high and fast-flowing water.
The forecast centre says the peak levels are expected by late Wednesday afternoon and weather conditions are improving for the rest of the week.
