Residents in the Houston and Granisle area showed their holiday generosity through the RCMP’s annual Cram a Cruiser event.
RCMP from the two detachments were able to fill four vehicles with food and gifts. In addition, police collected $1256 for the Salvation Army Christmas Hamper program to help out those in need.
“The overwhelming support of the residents, businesses and organizations in these small towns proved on Saturday that they continue to have really big hearts,” said Sergeant Stephen Rose, the Detachment Commander for the Houston / Granisle Detachment.
“We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the community and everyone that donated to help make the holidays a little less stressful for those in need.”
Members of the local Ambulance Station, Fire Department, Bulkley Valley Credit Union and 3080 Army Cadets volunteered at the event as well.
