BC Hydro says it has completed work on an electrical tower that had initially been threatened by flooding in the Bulkley Valley.
Community Relations Manager Bob Gammer says crews were able to shore up and place armour around a 138 kilovolt transmission line tower in the Telkwa River by late Sunday.
High water levels on the river had raised concern that the base of the structure would be eroded, raising the possibility of a widespread power outage in the region.
Hydro laid down rip rap to access the site and put a crane in place to support the tower, enabling crews to armour the base for future flooding events.
Gammer says the crane has been moved off to the side of the site.
He says BC Hydro thanks the public for their patience.
