Unionized workers in Kitimat are once again taking part in a global campaign against Rio Tinto, demanding improved treatment for employees.
Unifor Local 2301, which is part of the Rio Tinto Global Union Network, will be holding a rally and protest Wednesday.
The union says there will be national officials flying in from Toronto and Vancouver to speak at the event along with local members providing perspective from Kitimat.
Local officials say Rio Tinto continues to cut costs by contracting out work that was once done by full-time employees.
The rally is slated for Centennial Park across from Upper City Centre Mall at 4:30.
