Parents, teachers along with school district officials gathered with the Ministry of Education in Terrace to get feedback on how reports on a student’s progression is done.
One of the focuses was on relationships and communication between teachers and parents which many say will bring more helpful and timely information.
Rebecca Georges is a parent of a student in the Coast Mountains school district and believes breaking down the report cards to categories like strengths and weaknesses would help parents more.
The school district’s Janet Meyer says she found parents would also like their kids to be involved in the process more.
The province says over 1000 responses have been given online. Parents wishing to complete the survey have until the end of February, 2017.
