Residents of Moricetown have a sweet surprise on Friday, August 18th.
On Friday, the village of Moricetown will have a grand opening for an orchard full of young fruiting trees and shrubs.
These plants will include apples, cherries, pears, plums, and berries.
This past spring, 18 varieties of fruiting trees and shrubs were planted.
With this and other similar projects, Moricetown is trying to create a healthier future.
The project was boosted by a grant from the Wetzin’kwa Forestry Corporation, as well as help from the Kyah Wiget Education Society Students.
