Skeena-Bulkley Valley MP Nathan Cullen and Toboggan Creek Fish Hatchery are raising concerns about the lack of funding.
The hatchery says they’ve been given annual funds from the federal government of $155,000 for the last 25 years.
They say they need to see it doubled in order to properly run the hatchery properly.
The majority of the money goes to operations as it’s mostly ran by volunteers.
Toboggan Creek Fish Hatchery Manager Mike O’Neill says closure could be the only option if funding isn’t increased.
MP Nathan Cullen says the federal government has been ignoring the fact how important the hatcheries are to the area.
Other businesses showed their support as well as they say it helps with tourism and bring money into the local economy.
