BC has a new target in their goals to cut greenhouse gas emissions.
Environment Minister George Heyman put forward legislation yesterday proposing a 40 percent cut in carbon emissions by 2030, and 60 percent by 2040.
Currently the only target in place for the plan is to drop levels by 80 percent for 2050.
Heyman says steady progress towards a goal is key in ensuring the endeavour is successful.
A full provincial climate strategy is set to be tabled this fall.
