Two programs that provide early education to Indigenous children will be expanded thanks to 30 million in funding from the province.
A fresh partnership through 2020 will see the First Nations Health Authority and the Aboriginal Head Start Association of BC both have their programs expanded.
The Aboriginal Head Start Program, which provides early cultural learning, will see 19.5 million dollars of the investment to go towards expanding their existing network of 122 programs.
With the rest of the money, the FNHA will continue to promote culturally safe early learning and school readiness programs.
The investment is an attempt to help Indigenous families become stronger and more resilient in their formative years.
