Premier John Horgan announced plans to launch a new primary Health care strategy today.
The new strategy focuses on faster, team based, care, and will see the government create a fund to recruit more health care professionals.
They are also looking to connect people with better care, closer to home.
The plan includes: funding for 200 general practitioners, a patient centered medical care system, new primary care networks, 10 new urgent primary care centers, and community health centers.
The plan aims to see 9,400 more surgeries and 37,000 more MRIs completed this year than last.
