Recycling depots across BC are now adding new options for those looking to be more environmentally friendly.
Formerly rejected items such as prepackaged snack bags will now be accepted under the “other flexible plastic packaging” category.
116 depots throughout the province will be collecting the new category as of today.
The pilot project will help Recycle BC better determine how best to recycle these materials before adding them to the residential system.
Recycle BC expects all depots to begin collection next year.
