Northern Health and Prince George RCMP are warning residents about a spike in overdoses in the city.
Northern Health says there’s been 12 serious opioid overdoes in the past three days.
Dr. Andrew Gray says normally they see around 2 overdoses during a week long period.
He says none of the overdose patients have died, but needed more treatment in order to reverse the overdose.
He says data on overdoses is being gathered more frequently to help them issue warnings.
The RCMP are warning residents that no drug is a safe drug when it’s being sold on the street.
Officials are warning people to call 9-1-1 if you suspect someone having an overdose.
