Alberta Premier Rachel Notley will be skipping the Western Premiers conference due to the Trans Mountain Pipeline dispute.
Notley says that it would be “surreal” and “exceptionally tone deaf” to expect polite discussion on any issues while the pipeline battle with BC wages on.
According to Notley, BC is attemption to “choke the economic lifeblood of the province and country”, making it difficult to focus on other topics.
Meanwhile, BC Premier John Horgan will be in attendance at the conference and says he does not expect tensions to be high.
The conference kicks off this evening in Yellowknife.
