It’s election day in B.C. and New Democratic Party Leader John Horgan will spend most of it helping NDP voters get to the polls in up-for-grabs ridings in Coquitlam, Vancouver and Surrey.
It’s a departure from the expected election day itinerary for party leaders, which usually sees them returning to their home riding to vote and await the election outcome.
But Horgan voted last Saturday on the first day of advance polling, leaving him free to assist in other ridings today — and he closed his campaign last night with an appeal to undecided voters to join New Democrats.
BC Liberal Leader Christy Clark held her final rally of the campaign in the Liberal stronghold of Abbotsford and votes today in Dunbar, while Green party Leader Andrew Weaver said his party would look to the future and overcome the mud-slinging of the past 28 days.
You can find the closest polling station on Elections BC’s website.
Polls are open until 8 p.m. May 9th.
