Even though the provincial election has come and gone, some still have issues with election signs.
City council accepted the first three readings of a proposal for a new Election and Political Signs Bylaw which will permit election signs in specific locations while ensuring public safety.
This proposal will provide clarity and regulation regarding political campaign signs across the city.
The bylaw states 31 specific locations within 14 general sites where signs will be permitted.
The city does not have jurisdiction over provincial highways including Highway 16 and Highway 97 corridors which are regulated provincially.
