Following a particularly rough weekend, the province is officially requesting the support of the Federal Government to help deal with wildfires.
More than 31 hundred people find themselves under evacuation orders in the province, while another 18 thousand are on standby under evacuation alerts.
With 600 wildfires burning in the province and weeks of hot and dry weather still on the horizon, the Provincial Government is now asking the Feds for 200 personnel to assist in wildfire cleanup efforts, Heavy-lift aircraft to help reposition crews, and aircraft for emergency evacuations.
The BC Wildfire Service currently has 34 hundred of their own personnel and firefighters from across the province battling the flames.
