The BC government wants public input as it crafts new provincial policing standards.
The province wants the new guidelines to promote unbiased policing, a response to a recommendation from the Missing Women Commission of Inquiry.
The Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General are encouraging both the public and stakeholders to share ideas on ways to promote policing services that are delivered in a “fair, equitable, and responsive” way to meet the needs of vulnerable groups.
The province is gathering public engagement online, through email, and mail submissions.
More information can be found here.
Results of the engagement will be posted on the Promoting Unbiased Policing Engagement website.
