The City of Quesnel Council offered an update on their Elliot Street Supportive Housing Project at yesterday’s council meeting.
Council approved a reading of a bylaw qhich will allow the 6 vacant lots on the 300 block of Elliot Street to be utilized for the project.
The project will see 32 self contained supportive housing units with full washrooms and kitchens, installed across three floors of the lots.
There will also be room for staff, though the short stay and emergency shelters have now been removed from the plans.
The project will now seek public consultation, a BC housing proposal, and a contractor to move forward with the project.
