The RCMP North District Major Crime Unit is investigating the death of a woman near Williams Lake.
Police were initially called to a report of a sudden death in the Esk’etemc First Nation community of Alkali Lake on Friday, June 1.
Investigators say the death is considered suspicious, but police say there’s nothing to suggest that the public is at risk.
RCMP have not provided any other details or why information about the death was not reported until a week later.
