The Town of Smithers went through a rollercoaster yesterday regarding rising water levels.
What started out as a flood watch was elevated to a flood warning, and eventually evacuation alert by the end of the day.
According to Fire Chief Keith Stecko, however, things are looking up today.
Though levels have begun to drop, Stecko says the department will work with the District and River Forecast Centre to continue to monitor the situation.
